That's great:2tsup:
I thought the Aussie Haka was an Aussie patting all his pockets and chanting "bugger, I must have left my wallet at home" when its his turn to shout a round for his Kiwi mates.
rtfarty's looking for a pub fight when it's not his shout!!(or maybe it is & that's why he's not happy):):):):):)
The Poms have a good war gesture if they want to use it. When the Scots captured the famous longbow men they used to cut off the first two fingers of their right hand so they couldn't use the bow again. Longbowmen before a battle used to raise two fingers which said "Come and get these if you can."
Wonder how the kiwis would react to that war salute?
Jerry
Jerry ,
the Scots did not fight against the English at the Battle of Agincourt .
The Hundred Years War was between France and England .
How would we Kiwi react ?
Same as usual mate , we salute back :fingerscrossed: :NZ3:
Jock,
Being an ex Pom I do know about Agincourt and Crecy. Just as a Scot knows about Bannockburn but history has no definites, The longer back in time, the more the story varies. The English longbow was first used en mass by Edward the One, the Hammer of the Scots. As to how the salute began is an area of controversy so perhaps it's best we agree to differ.
Let's stay with the jokes.:U:peace:
Jerry
maybe they'd say, "Come get my right thong if you can!"
Beee-yotch! (wanka)
An 'ex Pom' ?
How exactly did you change your birthplace .
Jerry ,
you don't slide out of it that easily pal . If you do not want to be challenged , check your facts first .
That 'history' you provided does not wash . Give us at least one reference , so it can be looked into .
You came up against a Kiwi history buff , and your joke fell eh :D
The kiwis would reply to the two finger salute like they did in Brisbane last night. League world cup final if you aussies have quickly forgotten. Hehehe
Jock,
This is a "joke forum". not a history forum.
