Loose Roofing Nails
This last lot of wind we had did some damage to my corrugated iron roof. (old roof) . Went up there to have a look and bang down some of the nails and found some of them will not hold in the timber. Is there a screw system that will let me pull the old nails and replace them with some type of screw that would be slightly bigger than the old nail hole???? Your help would be appreciated.

Get some larger "Tek" roofing screws and use them, usually works quite ok.

Get some Type 17, 14 gauge x 65mm roofing screws with neo washers. These are commonly used in cyclonic areas.

Mick, will the type 17's work OK in timber?

Type 17 screws are designed for use in timber. It refers to the design of the screw tip. Metal teks are type (some other number which I forget):B
