converting my loft/roof space

hi , i have a good sized 4x2 house ,with a large roof space.
i would like to convert the roof space into a room with stairs leading up to it via the living area.could anyone give any advice on what is involved and an idea on the regs i would need to comply with for the floor/stairs and the process i will need to go through . many thanks lloyd

Atic roof space conversions require specialised detailing to meet the relevant building requirements.
i would make your first port of call a good building designer who can go through & explain your options.
