Finish for Recycled Oregon Outdoor Setting

Have recently acquired a fair amount of recycled<st1:state w:st="on"><st1> Oregon</st1></st1:state> and am in the process of building an outdoor setting.
What sort of finish would be most suitable? No need to stain it, just want a cheap long lasting clear finish.
It will be kept on our balcony which gets the afternoon sun, but may occasionally get wet by some wind driven rain.

Hi Carpo,

Sikkens oil is my choice. I have found it excellent for out doors. They even have a product to "seal" the oil but still enable it to breathe.

It's also easy to recoat in years to come with minimal preparation...one of my key considerations with out door pieces.

Sorry to say, cheap and long lasting doesn't happen together. You'll need to settle for one or the other.

This has been discussed on other threads and maybe there's oregan and then there's OREGON, but for mine I'd go for "cheap" as the "long lasting" won't be and issue - in the open that stuff will rot out faster than the paint will

I'd second both the Sikkens and Feast Watson Weathershield products. I'd also add that a product with uv protection would also be of great benefit, especially for oregon which is not the greatest outdoor timber.
