Waste pipe - DWV

I would like to get some feedback on my plan to lower a protruding plumbing assembly.

I have two ceramic DWV assemblies, one inside the laundry which drops straight down to a s-trap and the other about 20cm away on the other side of the laundry wall that joins into the laundry one about 50cm down

I would like to lower the laundry one so I can level off the old concrete floor and upgrade the old iron grate with a PVC cap/plate. The pan section is now redundant as I have moved the grey water to the DWV outside.

At present the assembly protrudes about 20mm above what will be level after I have leveled off with a leveling compound. I am not going to permametly cap it as it is the most direct access to the s-trap.

I was planing to run a few cuts with a ceramic blade around the top, chip out the protruding rim, insert a short PCV sleeve with removable cap into the vent and fill the pan with concrete.

This is opposed to making a very big hole in the concrete and cutting off below the entire pan.

I am not sure DWV is the correct name for this thingo - its one of those cermic pans that accomodates waste pipes and has a round vent - could be a gully trap maybe?

sounds like an earthenware floor waste collar maybe? with a big cast iron round grate. yeah as wonderplumb said, photo's would be best, your wording is confusing.

Nice one, well you could grind it off with an angle grinder flush with the floor. Just make sure you seal the outlet of the pan well before you concrete it up.
