Tips from flooring Gurus on how to use Poly adhesive

I'm gluing and nailing an engineered wood floor but couldn't get Bostik locally so am using RLA 1017 which I believe is similar.

I'm using 10l buckets and am wondering what's the best way to physically get the stuff from the bucket on to the floor so I can trowel it out. It may sound like a stupid question...well it probably IS, but the stuff is nothing like what I imagined. It's much thicker and the foil "bladder" inside the bucket makes it difficult to just scoop it out. So far I've only put down the sub-floor, wore no gloves, and the stuff went everywhere :doh: I'm sure there must be some "tricks of the trade"on how to spread this stuff because I'm not looking forward to having it all over my nail guns and new Kapex! I'm thinking some chemical gloves may be the go but surely there's a neater way of doing things? BTW I'll be using the whole bucket so don't need to save anything if the trick is to cut the corner of the bladder or something similar.
