Parramatta

Just wondered if anyone is from parramatta, an old gent i new passed away last year and he lived there before coming back to england.He was a great story teller and a good yarn spinner. He reckoned he owned a tow truck co. but i never knew when to believe him or not.He was supposedly called "The Pom" but his real name was Derek Welsh.I wonder if anyone new him.:)

My mum grew up in Marsden St. Parramatta, and 4 generations of our family have been married in St. Johns Parramatta.
I worked in Parra for the first 8 years of my fulltime employments, but fortunately have never had anything to do with tow trucks, nor have I heard of "The Pom", nor Mr Welsh.

grew up a few kms from Parra
went to Parramatta High.
remember lots of tow trucks but no drivers' names
must have driven through the centre of Parramatta over a thousand times in the two years I worked at Windsor
