Please help young amateurs with plumbing issues!

Hi,

We're attempting a total reno, and trying to do most of the work ourselves. The project is a typical farm workers cottage, that has been vacant for around 8-9 years. Structurally it's fine, a bit of a patch up needed here and there, and a coat of paint needed everywhere!

The bathroom is currently what we're working on, it's got a cement floor, with fibro (blue, waterproof type stuff) walls up to around 1.8m then normal walls around the top and cieling.

The plan: We've adjusted the outside plumbing to allow us to put a toilet inside (the current toilet is out on the verandah). We now need to secure the toilet in place, easy, right? Except we bought a cheap toilet that seems to be lower than a normal toilet (lesson learnt) and we were wondering how to lift the height of it a bit? It's only around an inch or so.

It's a P plate one, so we dont have to go through the floor with the plumbing.

We're then going to tile the bathroom, which makes it even lower!

Also, any ideas as to the best way to resurface a bath? it's got a nice bath, in good condition, but it's a horrible salmon pink, not really in keeping with our new style! :-)

Any advice would be appreciated!

basically, poo doesnt run up hill, you either need to raise the bed of the floor to the desired height, which should be around 180mm centre to the outlet from the pan waste or cement the pan in with a bigger bed, 1 inch would make it about the correct size for a disabled toilet, so you can have disabled shearers without probs.....otherwise you need to lower the waste to suit. but if the floor is going to raise from what you have... then a cement bed under the pan will finish the rest. as long as the tile bed isnt higher than the 25mm.

I think you may be able to repaint the bathtub with 2 pack auto finish.
