Adding a wall mount

l want to add an extra bit of material to the wall in the living room, lm not sure if the wall is plasterboard or brick, because we are waiting for the keys to move in.

My idea is to add an extra bit of material, to be honest lm not sure what l can use, l want to create a center piece, where l can cut a hole out in the middle and place a plasma TV inside, and then attach the plasa to the wall. This material will by the whole roughly 2 meters wide and the whole lenth from floor to ceiling. Basically my questions are what material can l use, which is the cheapest and how can "this material" be attached to the wall, can l glue it!!!

Arbitrarily cutting a hole in a supporting structure is never a good idea. For best results, use a surface-mounted device. Wait until you can identify existing conditions before deciding on your final design. Glue probably won't work in any event.

If you are in a timber wall you can prop the roof and add a bulkhead beam, then cut away the studs. But the question is why can't the wall mount just fix into the wall? Use screws/nails for a timber wall and masonry nails or anchors for masonry.
