Hi Folks
We started to stain the inside of our home with a colour that has recently been discontinued. We still need at least 3 four litre tins of the stain. The stain is called Wattyl Exterior Stain (oil-based) Walnut Brown. How would I get some more? The local shops have just scratched their heads.
try ringing the manufacture, they usually have a customerservice number on the can.
word of warning, even if you get the same stain, there may be a slight variation in colour as it most probably will come from a different production batch. test it first.
If its markedly different you will have to fiddle with colour yourself.

Thanks for that, but apparently Wattyl has stopped making oil-based stains and I'm 2/3 of the way across a nine square metre wall. :?
I just rang Wattyl and had a long discussion with one of their techies,
Said this was discontinued years ago.
after tossing around all options he sugested to find a colour matcher and take any left over stain or failing that a piece of stained timber, and ask if they can sugest a compatable product that they can tint for you.
I suggest a good antique restorer as they have to match old to new all the time and will probably solve your problem.
Or as i have no idea where Biloela is or how big it is, try a good house painter.

Wattyl and Haymes walnut stains were pretty much the same colour wise, if anything the Haymes may have been a little lighter. It wouldn't be very hard to match them. Pretty sure Haymes still make 4 litre tins.
