In the next week or so I will start the relocation of a deck with pergola from a house across the street (to be demolished) to my place. My first challenge is to dismantle the existing structure…..any tips on the on dos and don’ts in this process would be gratefully received….The deck is 5x5 metres and made of treated pine (see photos) suggestions on the dismantle order…pitfalls…specific tools needed….technique on lifting the boards.. Joists & bearers etc would all help.

I’ll deal with the re-building later.

Thanks

Relocating a Deck & Pergola
Hi Guys
Sorry for the delay in a reply....after many years of great internet access...the whole thing went down....had to play the ‘pass the buck’ game for a week between the ISP...the modem manufacture …and IT support people…all fixed now
Anyway….Echnidna…not possible to jack it up…..very poor access at both sites….I originally thought of something like that….even cutting it up to move it wouldn’t work.
Vernonv…..Thanks for the reply….most likely the deck will be not rebuilt the same size…but the bits being used to create a new deck……..
Any thoughts on the most efficient methods of removing the screw-nails from the boards??
