When Irish eyes are not smiling

Paddy went to his optometrist for an eye test where he
as asked to place his right hand over his right eye and read
the chart. Paddy got mixed up and shielded his left eye.

The optometrist then asked him to cover his left eye with
his left hand but again Paddy was confused and covered
his right one with his left hand.

In desperation the optometrist got a piece of cardboard
and cut one hole in it. He asked Paddy to have a look
through it.

Paddy said, "I can see ok, but I thought I might have
gained a pair of glasses with gold rims like my brother.
