I've just applied a coat of Sika MB moisture barrier onto a concrete slab that's just on 12months in a newly built house. I didn't notice till later that the label mentioned something about having to apply the Sika adhesive and floorboards before the next 48 hours or else it will have to be sanded down and another coat of moisture barrier re-applied.....is this really necessary? If so, why so? Thanks in advance for any comments, as they will be muchly appreciated.

If it's a polyurethane base that cures by reacting with atmospheric moisture, it may reach a cured state where it's chemically impervious to solvent qualities in your glue. curing will happen faster in warm humid conditions and slower in cool, dry weather. Of course, if it's not moisture cured then it may just have fully catalysed...
Either case, you're relying only on the mechanical ability of the adhesive to grip the smooth surface (cured moisture barrier).
Give the tech line (assuming Sika Oz have one) a call; you also might be able to doctor it up a little by swabbing with something like xylene or acetone.
