Suspended Ceiling
Hi
I need to get a suspended ceiling with tiles put into our office, a friend told me I should be looking around $30 or $40 per m2 but this was a couple years ago.
I got one quote at $55 seems steep to me, we have around 120m2 to do in 3 areas.
What is the going rate for a suspended ceiling ?
Thanks
Nic

Working and quoting on existing buildings is a different ball game to new work. So a metre rate may not come into the equation but more the access and the time it take to do a job. Get a reputable tradesperson who you know can do a good job either some one you know or from word of mouth. If you only have a small area and you are confident the people can do good job then go for it.
Quality lasts a long time but if its a bad and cheap job ooh my opinion only but from experience. I got people call me when they got problems from getting someone cheap. It ends up costing more than you do saving.

120m2 is a reasonable size so I'd shop around.
Rod's down in Melbourne but he's probably busy. I'm sure he'll chime in with some advice though.

I would be interested in giving you a price and it wont be any where near $55 per m2. If you would like to send me a message I will come out and price it for you.
Most of our subcontractors are busy in our housing work. I don't mind at all doing the odd suspended ceiling this size myself I seem to do at least one every month!
Fortunately my main business interest allow me to do that occasionaly.
Cheers Rod
