Selley's flooring adhesive

Have almost chosen my company to lay my floor, and having confirmed that the finish they use is good - i just remembered to ask about the glue.

they use selley's (and the selley's moisture barrier combo)

i know when i laid some boards my brother-in-law mentioned that there were some advantages in using sika as it is flexible to move with the boards during the year

i know using liquid nails is a no go - but what is the quality of the selley's product like?

Selleys has come a long way since first releasing their flooring adhesive.

A lot of installers are using it.

But, I still rekon Ultraset is better. :D

thanks to both of you for replying!!

I guess I can handle getting a product that is decent, if not top of the range.

My main concern was that the product would be too rigid and not appropriate to flooring!

i used sellys for the first time two weeks ago on a direct stick floor, the reason for selecting the sellys over the skia / ultraset is the sellys foams up to enure full contact with the boards where in some cases the polyurthane's can slump and not have full contact thus making a weak point to fail.

bostik actual make a product to fix such problems as described where boards are lifting or a "drumy"

the only downside to sellys direct stick (i presume thats the one being used) is that it is quite rigid and lacks movement that sika, bostik or mapei have. Either way they are all very good adhesives.
