What did he say?
Nope, its just after 9pm
It appears that heis saying he saw a house getting re-sheeted with colorbond, the roof used to be tiles.
The question is why they where using wood battens not steel, as steel is the norm over here in WA.
and its not likely that they are cheaper...personal preference maybe by the roofie.
oops i was quickly bashing that question out at work :) and mondayitis
what i meant to say was the house was getting re-roofed in colourbond without taking the old roof off which is tiles. and they just battened it up over the tiles.
so its a normal thing?
can i gyprock over my old internal plasterboards? i cant be arsed ripping them down.
A lot of rubbish to get rid of though. I'd imagine it would help with insulation leaving them there, but I don't know how they'd fix the battens to prevent uplift. You'd want them secured down to the rafters somehow.
The question I would ask is why go from tiles to colourbond?
So you don't have to keep repointing - so you don't have to keep replacing cracked/broken tiles - to change colour - so you get the better look (entirely subjective opinion) - so you can sit and listen to the rain (when it rains)...
