timber floor or concrete
Hi everyone !
This is my first post so go easy on me please!
Im going to become an owner builder and need to decide whether to install a timber or concrete floor on my new home.
What is cheaper timber or concrete?
I have priced concrete at $180 per cubic metre . and would think the land is h type soil.
(untested as yet)
Any help would be much appreciated!

hey riley, welcome, i thought concrete was cheaper for flat and timber for sloping sites. If H type, concrete and reo beome expensive quickly unless you try waffle pods

Depends if you are doing a slab construction or not I guess.

Thanks for the help so far
The slope on the block is 50mm every metre
The proposed house is 16m long and a fall of 800mm which I probably could still grade out prior to boxing with a small retaining wall 800 mm or just 45 degree garden on the upper side of the block.
What I am thinking is by the time I grade the block and buy floor coveringsand the concrete it might just pay for a good polyurethaned hardwood floor most of which the labour I could do myself.
Can anyone give me a rough price per sqaure metre for materials only on a timber/steel subfloor with yellow tongue flooring and or softwood flooring.
