Pouring a Bathroom Floor
HELP!!
I am pouring concrete tomorrow for my bathroom floor. Room floor size is 4.2m x 1.95m and I have set it up for 100mm thick. Have ordered 1.0m3 of concrete.
I plan to put a screed on top of the concrete slab later and wondered if just levelling the concrete off with a plank in a sawing motion will give me the right finish for the screed to bond to?? Will I need to use a wood float at all or would that bring up moisture and make the surface too smooth? This is new territory for me.
Cheers

wood float or broom finish to provide texture for screed to grip to. 50 mm set down minimum, workout if you are going to waterproof under or over screed.???

Floor set down
I have set down only 40mm after discussing with several tiling companies including Beaumonts. I will be sloping the slab in the same direction of the fall which will result in a quite uniform screed thickness so it should never be less that 20mm thick screed .

OK should work, 50mm set down is for flat slabs, if yours has fall then 40mm could be useable.
Have you worked out your waterproofing yet?
Personally I go under the screed.
