My outdoor lights are controlled by a Clipsal Outdoor Infascan (750WP). It was working perfectly well when first installed a few months ago, then started keeping the lights on for extended periods and now keeps them on permanently day and night. No amount of adjustment will change this. Its mounted on a mounting box and the connections in the box are as dry as a bone dry. Can anyone suggest what’s causing the lights to remain on please? I've a similar problem to yours - multiplyed by 2...
One set at the side of the house, one set at the back of the house...
Sometimes, they work great - detect on... 5 minutes off...
Other times they don't come on at all...
Other times they don't go off...
Double 150W spotties in both...
Tried checking the spotties - they're ok...
Days later, they start working again...
Set at the side of the house is 'plumbed' direct to the mains - so when it stays on, well, y' hafta turn the mains off when it's dark to re-set it (and sometimes even that doesn't work...)
Well - 'cos they come back on (or go off) - they're not dead...
So I do wonder what is causing it..?
My Senior Engineer reckons it's "atmospherics"...

I have a set that sometimes does this. It normally happens after a power glitz/failure and all it needs is resetting at the switch by turning off and on quickly.Quote:

What K_S said ask Clipsal - I think they offer a replacement guarantee - including the cost of replacement - as long as you had a electrical contractor do it
Probably dead, but worth a try to reset.
These can also be problematic if installed in the same circuit as an electric motor such as a ceiling fan and can also have their life shortened by being in the same circuit as a dimmer.
Clipsal will just say get a sparky to come an look at it - the same one who installed it . . .
5 year warranty on Clipsal Infrascan. That's why you pay a reasonable price for them, compared to the $30 jobbies that Kmart sell. It's also why it's the only sensor light that most sparkies will install!
