Carrots

They'd be pretty hard to peel, wouldnt they?

So thats where baby carrots come from!

Just to be serious, I'd reckon there is too much nitrogen in the soil for root vegetables.
Grow some leaf vegetables there to use up the nitrogen and follow with root vegetables.

Actually he didnt thin them out, basically forgot about them for 6 weeks,
