I want to get a syringe and fill those puppies with Vodka!
What hotel are they from?
Very unusual, first time for me.
Putting vodka in water melons or carving them?
I Googled [watermelon sculpture], and got a tonne of hits, including these. But, how (and why) did you find them? The first one seems to be seedless; probably the same for the rest. Most likely ephemeral, like ice or sand sculptures: gone in only a few days, if that.
Very interesting.

Munruben, mate--you need to get out more. :D Probably should be moved to the cooking sub-forum. :p
First Faberge Eggs
Now Faberge Watermelons
What Next???
Of course they are ephemeral, but this takes nothing away from the skill of the artist. The principle is that of the cameo, and could be applied to timbers with stark contrasting colours. I'll refer this thread to the carvers' forum!
Carvers do similar things with laminations of different timbers. Takes a whole lot longer than watermelons though!
Great work by the artists and the bonus is you can eat most of the waste.
Cant remember a thread with four syllable words used so frequently :o. Even though they were all the same word. apart from laminations and watermelons

Well, Joe was not sure...
