different options for Tassie Oak Floors

We are about to extend/reno and will be laying Tassie Oak, topnailing to match the exsisting floor. Not sure about keeping the lioght colour of the natural wood though and was wondering how these boards come up stained??? Either to give a richer look....Walnut???? Or to go very contemporary and go with Black Japan (how does this wear long term? Any advice here would be most appreciated. Does anyone know of a very good floor polisher in Melbourne metro? Last time we had floors done we were very disappointed (very poor workmanship) so would like a reccommendation. Thanks for the help,
