Equip all pub chairs and benches with seat belts haivng punch codes to unlock. If you can't punch in the code it won't let you get up. :D
Tough when you need to use the dunny, but serious problems call for deperate solutions. :wink:
For me if I have too much to drink. I fall asleep. But I know for others, it is "Fighting Juice". To curb this I do not know. If you limit the opening times of Licenced Establishments, you will find people will work around the laws.
The only real way to control alcohol consumption is to ban all alcohol and that will not happen as long as you, me and everyother Human is alive.

I'm not sure that there is such an animal. I'd say that the violence and anti-social behaviour is already there and although alcohol can lower inhibitions and "release the beast" as it were, more often than not the alcohol is just an excuse.
I know a couple of blokes who go to the pub for the brawl... not the beer. Even when they're broke, they're down the local, nursing their way through a mere half a dozen brews. But it ain't a good night unless they have a barney with someone. :no:

my swmbo and I drove a Sydney taxi in the 1980's and we both noted that the people who we picked up in the early part of the evening to go home, you need their address before they went to sleep, or ear muffs for the singing or hear all the latest jokes. The next wave of people were a different type all together.

I have heard reports that with the onset of the party drug culture the violence has been decreasing (its all about the love man). It's also not hard to understand why people are going for a couple of eccy's as opposed to a big night out on the turps. It will cost around $150 to get going for a night out on the booze or pop a couple of pills for less than $100 and all you need all night is water:(. I don't condone it but it's something to think about.

One of the contributing factors to nightclub assaults etc is the closing times of venues.
Often these venues are clustered closely together in order to maximise patronage etc.
There is a theory that suggests that patrons know that they are going to be kicked out at 3 am so there is a psycological pressure to get a skinfull prior to closing. Many venues also enforce a once out, not allowed back in policy.
By making the closing time later, such as 5 am, there is less pressure to get tanked and patrons tend to go home gradually.
The up side is also that the various venues aren't putting large numbers of drunken idiots out into the street where they are surrounded by other drunken idiots. Ask any copper when night club assaults happen and they will say the majority happen within the half hour time frame after closing.
Liquor licenses/laws in Victoria generally state that security are required to be present only for 30 minutes after closing so management usually ensure that security remove patrons asap at closing.
Or we could get pubs and clubs to give everyone 10mg valium with (in) their last drink
We have a huge problem here in Newcastle , so some local groups, the Council with the full support of the police wanted to bring in that you could not get entry into clubs , nightclubs or pubs after 1am , they could still serve patrons etc but once you left you couldn't get back into any venue.
Of course the publicans and night club owners were not in favor :no: saying that they have security people patroling the streets etc, which amounted to diddly as the number of offences was still rising , but the pressure they applied caused the State Government to step in and veto it , after a long campain there is now a 3am now entry policy . but why does the State Government have to step in and thwart the policies of the local Ploice and Council to reduce crime and anti social behaviour :?
From my unfortunately long experience in the Navy, there are only two types of drinkers: Sleepers and Fighters. I fall into the first category. Some guys went to "punching stations" (as it was known in the Navy) on two or three drinks. Mind you, they were marginal when sober (which wasn't that often anyway) as well.
We use to call them hydraulics , cause they wore hydraulic shoes , each drink made them 2" taller.:oo:

Yeah, I agree the harder drugs don't help things out but the party drugs... they are all about love and pretty colours. $150 worth of drinking in Sydney is about two beers :doh:.
