Sealing Norsjo Exterior Filler on weatherboards...

Do any painters out there know a better way of sealing the patches.... or is this just how it is....

Personally if this is how it is Id prefer not to patch the walls at all, it would look better.

if they sand it ok should be fine, best to prime area first though after scraping, rough sand and dusting off, sand and seal again, punch nails down as if you don't and it takes a knock filler will just pop out, seem jobs done without sealing before and it don't last that long, do not use it too thick as it takes ages to go off if too thick, bit like topping, do not use on any area deeper than about 1/2 mm

try to use low sheen at least on old boards, more reflective it is the more you see uneven work

try to not let it sit in the rain between working on it or on moist days, well this is what i do

remember paint jobs are 75% prep if done well, old houses that is

i prefer builders bog, dam site more solid, grips like my wife on me wallet, bit harder to sand (if need be use norsjo to finish off with skimming), with builders bog, just mix up small amounts till you get used to it, if working in full sun it goes off really quick, cost is not much more

i do loads of old houses up and skin over old uneven areas of weatherboard with norsjo - make sure you use the exterior one, if you are going to skim save yourself time by making sure bog don't sit proud if you are ging over it, if it does sand it first as they sand at different rates and saves you having to fill again

as i said this is what i do and my work stands up really well, as i said most of my work is old w/board houses so maybe, just maybe i know something about it

knot holes should be left unless they are ging to let water in
