Hi,
I put on one coat today of precoat (Dulux) on our new gyprock surfaces in our laundry/toilet. I will have to put another coat on tomorrow hopefully before putting on 2 top coats.
Should I be sanding it lightly between all coats (only acrylic paints used on this job)?.
Which grit size would you recommend I should use and is wet & dry the material I should use for this exercise?

It is usually recommended to sand between coats, but really it is up to you. As you say, light sanding only.
Painters use the sanding pads they fix to the end of their aluminium roller handles and they get through a room in no time.
I just use the yellow rolls of dry sanding paper, grit 120. Wet and dry is a lot more expensive.

Hi Metalhead, I'm certainly no expert, however have done a lot of painting over the past couple of years, researched & spoken to lots of paint supply people. New gyprock generally needs one coat of undercoat/sealer, followed by 2 top coats of your chosen acrylic colour. As far as sanding between coats is concerned, only sand off the obvious lumps/goobies that will sometimes occur. With toilet/ laundrys, paint people recommend low sheen for the ceiling as opposed to flat ceiling paint as it is easier to clean in a "wet" area.
