G'day
I've got a four years old CHEF oven.

it has stopped working a few weeks ago. So i thought I opened the cover and had a look inside. I saw a thermostat behind the dial switch which has wires connected to the elements down below.
How can you identify whether the elements or thermostat need to be replaced? Although there are no obvious evidence of burnt.:?

Check to see if it is wired to a separate fuse otherwise call a serviceman.

An element might be shorted in which case it will blow the fuse supplying the oven or an element might have an open circuit in which case it just won't work. You could check the thermostat with a continuity tester to see if it is switching or you could do the smart thing and call an electrician to avoid getting you or a loved one electrocuted.:o
The bit you diagnose as faulty will need to be replaced.Quote:

If absolutely nothing in the oven works (like the oven light) then it's more than just the thermostat or the element thats gone bung. It could be the DC power supply for example.
