Epoxy to seal between wall and floor tile edge

Hi

I am looking for a recommendation for an epoxy to use on ceramic tiles in the bathroom. I have used silicon where the wall and the floor tiles meet in the shower - but need to redo this every few months. I have had a bathroom sealed by Megaseal previously and they used an epoxy.

What could I use to seal the edge. If not sealed - I find water gets between this joint and leaks.

Your local tile shop will have a product in a caulking gun tube that will most likely match the colour of the existing grout that is designed to flex sufficiently to do the job. However I would have thought that silicone would have done the job which makes me curious to why the joint is failing.

hi, i'd go with a polyurethane sealant like sika flex - it has much more flex in it than silicone - from specialist suppliers like CDA will be about $10- a tube and comes in different colours as well (Bostik also have a range)

Thanks. Silicon works well. Just I dont like to redo the silicon every few months as the silicon seal eventually needs redoing.

Are you saying Yugse that the silicone needs re-doing every few months, because it discolours with mould/mildew?

Try cleaning out the gap with bleach, drying, then caulking. I have had my acrylic grout in place for years and give it a light spray with bleach, as I do with all corners, every couple of months leaving it overnight to kill off any possible mould growth.

The fumes aren't too pleasant but it works!
