Very Quickly.
Hi,
It has become evident that the hot water is taking a lot longer to get through to the various taps around the house (only one level - ground).
Even the shower and the sink in the bathroom (the hot water system is outside this room) it takes a good 2 litres of cold water to come through before it starts to warm up:(.
Would anyone have any idea why this is so - and if so, what can be done to rectify it please?

Are your hot water pipes insulated. Just because the hot water tank is just outside the bathroom doesn't mean the pipes are going direct.
Another thing is this your first winter in the house or did it use to get there quicker.

What is the reasoning for that Barry?

Third winter here but it used to get through quicker
Is the isolation tap fully turned on, or there could be sludge or something blocking the outlet.
It maybe a job for a plumber.
I know what Barry is saying. Our hot water service was in the laundry, but the pipe travelled to the bathroom, serviced those taps and then back to the laundry. I would assume this was because the original hot water service was plumbed that way, but not located in the laundry.
