Screws - Can You Use Them On.............

Hi,

Just a small question this time:oo:. Are there any regulations that state you cannot screw dressed hardwood to the existing (interior) wooden structure?.

I know nails would be the way to go but I am only putting three strips 1.9mtrs long having taken the originals down as they were rebated for bi-fold doors that are no longer there.

SO you've removed some rebated door jambs and want to replace them with plain, non-rebated ones? I can't imagine that even the most restrictive local council would stop you doing that, screws, nails whatever.

It's not as though anyone will see them after I have filled them in:wink: :). But obviously as a builder it would be silly to make wooden frames, pinning on architraves by screws but I was curious enough to see if building legistration would say that screws would be less strong than using nails especially where maybe a load bearing are of the structure was required?.

Fair go MH, but my opinion is that screws always outperform nails in any situation. Go for it!! :D :D
