Roof insulation
I am replacing a rusted old iron garage ( soon to be studio) roof with new corrugated iron and intend on insulating it with 7.4mm Protherm. It is suggested that the insulation be allowed to sag in order to have about 40mm air space between it and the roof. My question is this: would it be OK to stretch the insulation taut over the rafters and put the battens on top of it thus creating about 38mm between it and the iron. This would look a lot better inside since there will be no ceiling.

Should be fine, but it will make it a bit slower and trickier to get the battens on.

Yeah, thanks for that. That's what I thought too but I've only got a gabled roof measuring 5mx2.4m so it ain't so bad
