EEE over oil ?

I'm in the process of finishing a dining table top made from Mango. Using penetrol wood oil as the finish and 5 coats later, the surface feels like glass to touch, but when looking across the surface, some areas seem to have more gloss than others.

Questions

Are more coats of oil required ?
Would it be better to use EEE wax to even it all out ?
If EEE is applied and I want to re-oil in a few years, does the wax residue (if any) need to be removed first ?
I was planning on oiling only, and then rejuvenating the top when required with another coat which is quick and easy to do.

I don't know if this will help or not, but I have used EEE over Organoil, followed by a hard high temperature wax. This worked wonders, very glossy. You'd be nuts to put Shellawax over the top on any surface larger than 1-2 sq feet, unless you're a bodybuilder. That bloody Swansdown mop is a joke. I'd say stick with the hard wax over EEE and you're set.

What's wrong wi ya man. I have 2 swansdown buffs an they're absolutely great. If ye reckon they're a joke then ye surely dinna ken the right way ta use them. I use 1 for applyin EEE, traditional wax an the odd bit o shellewax an the other fer buffin.

I dinna ken how shellewax came ta be in this post cause there was ne mention of it in the original question, but the WoodWad is right, dinna be applyin it te big surfaces unless the're on the lathe.

Make sure the oil is well an truely dry before ya apply the EEE an if it were me, I'd be gettin meself a swandown mop ta be helpin wi the buffin o the work.

To be honest I wasn't too keen on a full wax finish and was thinking of the EEE more as a Cut and Polish (like U's ad says), where once it had done its job it could be buffed off to leave the original oiled surface (which is starting to build up a bit).

Just had another thought, would using tripoli powder and a lambswool pad on a random orbit sander produce good results without the need to use wax ?
