Hey guys,
I have a glass splashback being installed over an existing brick masonary wall. Now, behind the stove there is an electrical power cable that has been chased in the wall about 7-8mm deep. Should I be worried out the electrical power cable getting hot and brittle over time or should I get some insulation or fc sheeting and liquid nail it to the cable?? What are your thoughts out there???

If it is behind the glass then don't worry about it. Even if it wasn't then your stove should not be pumping out massive amounts of heat outside the body of the stove - if it is then it is inefficient rubbish.
But if you want to make sure and set your mind at ease then ask your electrcial contractor to fit a length of heat resistant fibreglass tubing over the electrical cable. Or you could rip the back off the stove and stuff any gaping spaces with a glasswool batt........
Depends if you are worried about heat from the cable or heat through the glass, heat from the cable? turn the stove on full and feel the cable, if it gets hot call the electrician cause you have a problem, through the glass? not a problem as glass is a very poor heat conductor, the paint would peel off the back of your splashback before you had a problem with the cable.
You need to make sure that the wall behind the stovetop is fire rated, I would put a sheet of villa board on the wall as an easy solution.
