Use for clamps

Have been doing most of the domestic duties lately due to loved one having to have an operation :( . Anyhow I decided to cook her a Lemon Merangue pie last night and had a problem holding the pastry board still whilst I rolled the pasty, problem solved after a quick trip to the shed.:2tsup: Good lateral thinkling I thought.

Phil, good thinkling mate but it would have been much more "Kosher" if the cutting board thing had been made from timber and you had used nice big Clamps with lots of sawdust and oil on the threads.... and also.... What sort of real hairy chested bloke knows how to make meringue???

By the way, those spring calmps are great for holding the towels on the line on a windy day!

Christopher, Its all my mothers fault, dad was useless around the house so mum decided that her sons were not going to turn out the same way. We all learnt to cook, clean a house and wash and iron clothes. These skills came in handy after my first heart attack about 20 years ago, my wife and I swaped rolls she became the bread winner and I became Mr Mum for a while.

The down side to this was when the other mothers at the school found about about my unique abilities (remember this was about 20 years ago and domesticated men were a bit of a rarety) they kept making unsolicited advances toward me, being an object of desire by the oposite sex made me feel realy unconfortable.:?

Good on you Phil! :) I admire guys who can do more than flip meat on the barby. My father was in his mid 40's when my mother died suddenly and I watched him struggle with work, keeping house and learning to cook. I'm sure bad diet contributed to the cause of his death. Thank goodness the days of home science for the girls and ag science for the boys have long gone. Oh, and treat yourself with a marble pastry board ... keeps the pastry cool and no more clamps! :D

Hey! What proper tools would be good to use in the domestic duties department? drop saw for slicing Bread? Bandsaw for ? Holesaws for? soldering Iron? Nail gun???

Couple of 4" nails would have done the trick... ya could of dovetalied em in to give a good strong connection.

I use a putty knife on the BBQ, does that count?

I spray my clothes with silver-glide before washing them. No more nasty stains. :)

That would be me, then. I am also quite capable of flipping meat on the floor. :)

Might do that next time it would be a good way of staying grounded with bloky stuff.
