G'day from Timor Leste
G'day all,
Well I arrived in Timor Leste a week and a few days ago, and today is the first time I've managed to grab a bit of time to sit and relax. Thought I'd drop in on you lot.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll take a lot of pics over here and need a heads up on a blog or photoshare website... somewhere to share a few thoughts and experiences.
So.... whats a good way of doing this without chewing up ubeauts servers?

G'day Clinton.
There must be a way of doing it 'cos the backpackers do it while they are traveling.
We have had a couple stay here & use my computer, I'll see if I can find the link.
Here ya go, do a Google search on "free online album"

Hi Clint, hope all is well up there!
For an online album try photobucket. As for a blog I'm not sure how to do that but a quick google search seems to yield several sites offering hosting?
Good Luck and looking forward to your updates.

Good to hear from you Clinton, hope all is going well up there and you're behaving yourself

Clinton,
Blogger is all you need : http://www.blogger.com/start
There are plenty of templates and so on, and no cost at all.
Photobucket is fine, but try flickr for photos. It's free as well, subject to a fairly generous monthly upload limit, and a limit of three albums. If you need more, unlimited bandwidth and everything else will cost $25US.
The big advantage is that you can automatically "blog" the pics. Both companies are now owned by Yahoo, so there's a fair bit of cross intergration.

Ok fella's, I've managed to sort out a flickr account (findlay_clinton), and uploaded a few photo's of the accomodations (which is heaps better than I was expecting). The first time I was here I lived in a mozzie dome in a burnt out building for 6 months. This time it is better than the hotels that I stay in when I'm paying the bills! :;
More photos to come after the weekend..... I'll get out and about and find something interesting. I'll try to get a good photo for the Aus Day Photo thread..... have to put my Aus Flag singlet in the trees or something. :B :D
Between the power outages, tropical storms messing up the satellite links and hanging out chatting with the locals, I wonder how much time on the board I'll be able to get....
I'll upload a pic of the US$150 table we bought..... made from what is known locally as "rosewood" (another rosewood!). Pretty nice figure, and I think it is a Euc. ??
There are two local carpenters within a cooee of my ''hela fatin" (lit: place stay), and a blacksmith next to one of the carpenter'/cabinetmakers.
I reckon I'll be able to sort a WIP out with the locals, hey?
Cheers all.... keep having fun!
