Not being the sentimental sort of bloke youse all think I am, I know its hard to lose a best friend.
We had to have our dog put down last year, he was suffering through the summer and it was just too much for him, poor fella.
We still miss him.

So I know your loss.

We all know that they only live around 12-15 years but it doesn't make things easier when they go. Isn't it amazing how close you can get to them. :(

Be happy you gave him a good home and a good life. He would be.

It's tough when they have wormed their way into your heart, and some muts seem to get a lot closer than others.

Sorry to hear it mate, I too had a blue dog (see avatar) despite (or maybe even because of) the fact that he was a brawling, biting, food stealing (only from the neighbours' dogs:D ) wandering trouble maker he was one of the best friends that I've ever had. It's been five years and I still miss him :( . Hang in there, he had a good, long and happy run, try to get a little blue snapping, snarling bundle real soon to help ease the pain.

Sorry to hear about your good mate there namtrack. I really don't know what else to say mate as words can't really express when someone looses their best mate. I remember earlier this year when my wifes kelpie had to go. She still get cut up about him.

Thankyou for the sentiments - much appreciated. Blarney was the first pet I've ever had to put down (the rest lived life in the fast lane - literally) and boy was it a traumatic experience.

Anyway, as you can see from the avatar, the new apprentice has moved up in the world. We've had Rex for about 15 months, and now that he has learnt his place in the world from Blarney, he is right to become my new right hand man. Mind you, in 15 years Blarney never once fell/jumped off the back of the ute. Rex has done it twice in the first day (both times with a chain on) :rolleyes:
