Resurfacing a parquetry floor

Hi, I am looking at houses at the moment and have found one that looks ok. It has a few problems which I can manage but I need some advice on what is involved in resurfacing a parquetry floor. The floor is in the kitchen, dining and entertainment areas, covering about 60sq mtr total.

The surface has been eroded back to the timber in places and will need sanding back. How much can these floors be sanded (2-3 times?) and will re-sealing be effective?

Has anyone done this recently? Any idea of cost?

Parquetry can be resanded the same amount as T&G flooring.

In some cases, more.

Thirty bucks per square metre.

About $1800. All done.

Thanks fellas, I have done the sums and that house is now out of range due to repair costs.

awww, an i was just about to reply. check this out... 19mm block has about 150 years of sanding capability. The only problem is the glue wont last that long. But the most incredible think is that wood will and more.
