Well I'll be ducked!

A woman took her duck to the vet. After a quick examination, the vet said, "I'm sorry your pet has passed away". "How can you be sure?" she protested. "You haven't done any tests ... he might just be in a coma." The vet rolled his eyes and left the room returning a few minutes later with a labrador retriever. The dog stood on its hind legs, put its front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck, top to bottom. It then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook its head. Next the vet brought in a cat that jumped up on the table, sniffed the bird from beak to tail, mewed softly, and left the room. The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is a dead duck." And he handed her a bill for $150. "$150!! Just to tell me my duck is dead?!" The vet shrugged: "I'm sorry, but what with the lab report and the cat scan, it all adds up."
