Everytime I buy stuff and have small change, I just chuck in the centre console of me yoot, have done for the last year.
So I decided to have clean out, excluding $1 and $2 coins I got over $200 worth of silver, :eek: wow.
It might even help in the fuel economy too, not haveing to drag the extra weight around.

My son does that and he puts enough away over a year to register his car.
I stick all my loose change into jars. All silver and the odd gold coin goes in and every 6 months or so I cash it in. it starts to add up after a while.
Beware. Some banks now charge a fee to count bulk coins. :mad:
Only if they have to actually count it, if its counted and bagged in the correct bags and its at your personal bank where you have an account there is no charge... if there is change banks.(get it)
I have a friend who decided to cash his coins in he had one of those big beer cans full, ended up costing him way more than the coins were worth... dropped it on his foot just a he was walking into the bank!
Anything below a 50c gets put into empty pringles container, took a few to the bank a few months ago and got over $200
We used to have a 4 gallon (20 litre for the youngies:D) drumin the corner of the workshop for the christmas do.
At the start of the working year (5/1) the employees would put anything under 5 cents in the bin at the end of the day. All puncture reairs ($2.00 at the time) and battery charges (also $2.00) would go in as well.
At the end of the year it was that heavy you couldn't lift it. Our record was $15,000 which paid for all the staff to hire a houseboat on the Murray for a fortnight and included all food and drink.
But counting and bagging it was a nightmare.
