Banana Shortage

pheeeeyuueewwwy! i was getting sick of paying top dollar too.
Amen to that!
Hmmm... the last lot of 'nanas we bought had the flower end dipped in red wax. First time I've ever seen 'em like that! I assume it's because they're imports and something to do with pest-control? Anyone know for sure?
Call me fussy, but when I scoff 'nanas I don't particularly relish the idea of a mouthful of bug...
Means they are organically grown Skew.Quote:

Thanks Craig. That's one less uncertainty in my chaotic world. :D
Some of them taste like factory bananas

We just came back from two weeks in New Zealand. Luscious, fresh, large, ripe, yellow bananas at $1.40/kg. I ate two a day every day I was there!
Bring them back - my two year old son had forgotten what a banana was (and he was weaned on them)
Bananas were on special at the local F&V shop today for $12.99 kg ... I bought 2 for $4.35 :(
Cheers
Tikki
$1 a kilo here.
Who said Japan was expensive?
(petrol is 'only' $1.50 a litre though. I wonder if I can run the car on milk? It will be cheaper than petrol soon enough...)
Probably run on sake. Are you driving a rice burner?
