We need to have our carpets clean and I interested in any experiences members may have had with either wet (steam) cleaning, or dry (chemical) cleaning.
I am leaning toward the dry cleaning only because it leaves the carpets drier to walk on.
Any ideas or opinions please

Had carpets cleaned using the dry cleaning method some years ago and wouldn't recommend it if you want CLEAN carpets. The cleaning liquid was sprayed on and a machine similar to an industrial floor polisher (with lambswool pad) was run over it ... the pad was hardly grotty. Had them cleaned a week later using the steam/extraction method ... that DID remove grot! Don't waste money on dry cleaning ... just don't look at your carpets for a few months, steam clean and let summer dry them.

we had ours dry cleaned coupla years ago and its just a waste of money. they were dirty again three days later. get ya carpets steam cleaned or hire a britax and do it ya self.
use wool wash laundryliquid as shampoo and vinagar as de-fomer.
lot of hard yakka but only $28.:cool:
now we got jarah floorboards. just vaccy and mop. easy:cool:
Have tried both ways, steam is the best by far.
Lounges/dining chairs/rugs/carpets all came up like new, I would never use any other way.
Them little p ant machines just don't cut it... well maybe for the work vehicle lol;) :D
