ADSL 1500/512
After 12 years on dial-up, these past 2 years on BB have been sensational.
The speed is great but being 'always on', BB is sooooo much more convenient. I use an on-line TV guide in preference to printed ones because the schedules change so frequently and the ability to be able to look up some information when I want to rather than wait until the next time I'm on-line or make a special call which is what I had to do with dial-up is terrific.
BTW, I'm with Internode. They're not the cheapest but I can't fault their reliability for the 16 months that I've been with them.
Just had our plan updated to 3mbit DSL (was 256mb).
Way cool :D
Now they just need to work on the price :(
DSL with a decent router is the only way to go if you can get it. 4 PCs online and still have a phone
Cheers

In Melbourne
Just changed from T****ra on same speed (1500/256)
Actual speed withT****ra was about 800/65 (ish)
New ISP (Internode) is 1300/220 (ish)
Also, Internode provide service - which is a very pleasant change.
Oh yeah, Internode is $40 per month cheaper.
Up yours T****ra - Free at last!
Did I mention I have 10hours free dial up if I travel? T****ra wanted $5 an hour for that.
I am still sticking with dial up.
Slow yes but thats ok. I generally watch tv at the same time as surfing the net due to the laptop.
I don't care that I tie up the phone line as I am not interested in talking to anybody.
Cheap, unlimited downloads, unlimited time and no boot off.
Antisocial mongrel!:D ;)Quote:

I am on two way satellite 256/64 with HBis Subsidy. I'm 18 klms from the exchange to far for ADSL and not available at my exchange anyway. I have been told that it may be available soon.
Then I will have a redundant satellite dish and modem as I will own them at the end of July as it comes out of contract.
we have a very pi%%Y dial up connection and i dislike it BUT our exchange has just been updated and we can get adsl .....yippee beats the 28k8 phone connection we have atm .... cheers jules
I have a cheep dial up , as a back up and a free wireless broadband from the neighbour, His son's company supply it to him for free and he connected me up.
Its good to have good neighbours, at least on one boundrary.
First month of DoDo 512/128 with 25Gb limit for $49.90 pm.
After dialup, it is great :D :D :D :D
Bet I want more speed before too much longer though:rolleyes:
Got Optus cable and gotta say, very happy. One restart of the router in two years. Got 4 PC's connected never run into D/L limit or bandwidth problems.

Not too sure what mine is, but it seems to involve a lot of pigeons flying backwards and forwards carrying messages
