Foam???

I am looking for some material to shape (carve) that I can then cover as a "sculpture" - most probably plaster or paper mache. The size will be approximately 60-80cm high and 30-40cm in diamater, I am considering a foam block or similar, multiple blocks of material are not an issue as I can secure them with glue and dowelling.
Does anyone know a supplier in Brisbane?
Does anyone have an alternative suggestion for the material?

Yeah, that was my thought this morning when I was thinking about it over a cup of coffee.
Does anyone know where I can get some Hebel, preferably southside brisbane?
I am still looking for foam blocks (polystyrene) as well.

Art supply shops... Should carry both. Well the one near me does.

Art supply shops and craft shops suck, the blocks and shapes are too small for an 800x400x400 object, which is what I am producing.
I have found what I am looking for, there is a foam manufacturer out at Acacia ridge that will supply my needs. They will cut too size in one large piece.
Hebel is out, not suitable.

I would be extreamly careful with hebel, the particals that are released are extreamly small and can irritate the lining of your lungs (you could be hacking up gray stuff for weeks) even with the right face mask you can still end up coughing for a couple of days (from experiance).

Another option that you might want to look into is housing insulation foam, its usually blue or pink, its very easy to work, leaves a nice finish that you can sand or leave textured with regular kitchen tools like steak knifes and what not. It also holds plaster very well and is very light!
