Don't know if this has been posted before, or even if I am the last person in the world to work it out.:D
Take an offcut of 12mm pine, cut to length, and roughly round over the ends. Slide it into a small belt sander belt, and you have a remarkably useful hand sander. The belts are very cheap, and can be replaced very easily.
An oldie but a goodie Chris - I also use offcuts of belt in a rubber block sander [Supacheap panel beater style] - works a treat.

I hadn't seen this before either and it looks like a god idea. I might give it a go over the weekend.:)
I was shown this idea by a cabinet maker. He used the clogged up nozzles from silcone cartridges on one end of the pine or mdf to tighten the belt - works a treat
