Advice required on servicing old A12 Sunbeam Mixmaster

Hi,

I would greatly appreciate someone advising me how to remove the front cover of my wife's vintage A12 Sunbeam Mixmaster (so I can pack some new grease around the gears).

Don't know if its an A12 but if its like this one there should be a round gold coloured disk with an "S" on each end . Use a small flat screwdriver to gently pop these off and you should find a locking screw under each one ,
Where you go from there is up to you , sorry but I don't have the time to strip this one to see how it works,

mate, a while back, I fixed mine.....I don't know if it was an A12. But it was definetly a sunbeam mixmaster.

I had a capacitor problem though

I had some trouble if I recall as well getting into it. I don't know exactly which end it was ???:o sorry I've got a crap memory.......I managed to get into it finally by removing a metalic disk at one end.....it was pushed in....had to pick it out with a screwdriver I think.....behind the disk is a screw....have to get to that screw for it to come apart. Hard to get the disk out without damaging it.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know, The A12 has the same end caps. The model number is stamped on the mixer body where it connects to the stand.

Hi All, This sounds all pretty weird, I have just joined this Forum to find out exactly how to do the repair to the mixmaster.

I googled mixmaster repair and got the original appricotripper thread.

And my name is Jim as well!

I think I will have a rum..... then later try to get the end cap off the mixmaster to get at the ..........thingys and stuff.....
