If you have sand subgrade, as is pretty likely, don't worry about roadbase. When I was in WA I laid 150sq.m of pavers on the driveway, garage and rear deck areas with no more preparation than cleaning off the grass that was growing , loosening and recompacting the sand and levelling. No movement, no settlement, no hassles. The only time you need a subbase for your pavers is when you have a clay soil, soil high in organics or a wet area. Perthians are lucky that way.Quote:
