The evils of drink

A member of the Temperance League was haranguing his audience about the evils of alcohol.
Holding two glasses with tansparent liquid in front of him,he declared the first glass to be filled with water,aqua pura!
But the second glass contained pure alcohol.He removed a tin containing worms from his pocket.He put the first worm in the water and it swam around happily.He put the second worm in the alcohol and it instantly shrivelled up and died.
"There,"he thundered,"whats the moral of that?"
There was complete silence until an old fellow at the back of the hall called out,"it looks as if you drink alcohol,you won't have worms!"
