Apologies in advance, I searched the forum but couldn't find what I was looking for.
I need a wee bit of advice. I'd like to change my tap fittings, and will get a plumber to do it, despite the Bunning's staff confidence in me, but wanted to get an idea of what a plumber should charge?
There's no moving of taps or re-routing water, just replacing existing fittings. Any advice is appreicated.

Probably an open question, you may be best to phone a plumber and get him in for a quote. It depends on time and that depends on how hard it is to remove the old taps and fit the new. Generally this is an easy job so you should not expect a huge bill, but then we are talking about plumbers rates:rolleyes: . Try asking how much for cash on the day, usually payment up front helps on the price.

I recently had 3 phone quotes from plumbers to replace my taps in the shower, bath and basin. I supply the taps.
Quotes ranged from $200 to $450.
They all said shower and bath easy.....Basin could be difficult.
Why can't I just replace the handles and spindles in the basin the same as the bath and shower.
Plumbers all said no....will have to replace complete taps including the pipe work beneath the basin.......why?????

yuo usually have to replace them because the tap boss will likely be a different physical dimension, or the thread.
When I replaced my basin set, I had to enlargen the hole!
The bath and shower have generic tap seat left in the wall and you will fit new tap bosses to this.
