I want to run a couple of LED 12V camping lights in a display trailer that will be 'working' for a max of 8 hours a day.

It has been suggested a 2nd hand 12v gopher deep cell battery would do the job.

Those lights would draw 2.4A and for 8 hours that is 2.4x8=19.2Ah.
Your battery would have to be able to deliver more than that or you would overflaten your gopher lithium battery and that would result in the battery letting out all the smoke and your trailer turning very black.
With a used battery you don't know what its capacity is and unless it’s significantly greater than required you are running a risk of a meltdown. You will also need the correct charger to ensure that you don't overcharge the battery with the same catastrophic result.
My recommendation is to use a lead acid deep cycle battery which will not have any risks.
You can then use a normal automotive battery charger.
That is a low power draw. Most batteries will do the job, an AGM will cycle deeper but that is not going to be much of a concern in your case.
You could add a solar panel to charge ut or put the battery on charge at the end of the day.
If you dont want to fiddle around too much just get a portable battery box and plug your lights into that
I am not sure where a lithium battery was mentioned.
However, if you have a lithium battery in your gopher, then that can be drawn down to about 20% of its total capacity.
But. You probably have two batteries in your gopher, and if so, they will have to be balanced to bring them up to spec. Lithium is a different world to the old led acid, and requires some care. But they are good.
I would suggest your gopher batteries will be lead acid AGM and if so, they can be taken down to about 50%.
You have not told us the Amp Hour rating of the batteries. But from experience, one of them should handle your job with ease.
Just make sure they are both charged individually to full capacity before connecting them in the gopher.

ok Ive got the title wrong. I was thinking of deep cycle battery not as I mentioned deep cycle. :B

do you need to run THOSE specific lights?
i would look into something the just runs off 18V lithium ion tool batteries. at least their fairly cheap, readily available. most people have already commited to a portable tool brand and normally have the batteries and chargers already.
this guy hooked up some LED strips to his Dewalt stuff but should be plenty of options if you run another brand, there are also plenty of 3d printed adapters to use different brand batteries with other tools

if you have your heart set on those specific lights can you can always buy a 18v battery to 12v cig lighter, though not cheap ($70)

Most AGM batteries are designed as deep cycle batteries to power appliances etc. The rule of thumb is you should only consume 50% of their stated capacity before recharging. Wheras a car cranking battery is designed for a high load in short bursts only. For what you are wanting to do it would do the job if you got one of these at the right orice.
