Brocade chair age and style.

i have been asked at our local Mens Shed if i knew anything about the age, style and restoration of a couple of brocade covered dining chairs as pictured. i only have these 2 photo's at the moment. I'm not even sure of what the wood is so far.
Can anyone shed any light on this, should they be left in original condition, restored any advice or comments gratefully received.
