Hey guys/gals! Glad to have found this website with so much useful info. As a newbie woodworker, I realize I have a great deal to learn about a myriad of topics relating to making stuff with wood but it's going to be fun.
Just getting going setting up a semi-decent shop in my single car garage. With a couple of small projects under my belt, I'm primed for something more challenging.:wink:

On a side issue I remember partially travelling through Corfu with a nurse from Vancouver Island back in 1978. I remember her stating that there was only 7(?) families living on the island then. I am sure that a lot has changed since then.

I enjoyed a float plane flight Vancouver to Comox many years ago.

You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.

I did notice a number of other N.Americans when browsing thru the forums the other day. That's good to see; I think we can all learn from one another & benefit from our unique history of learning the in and outs of working with wood. I'm interested to see discussion/comments on the various tools/equipment available in different parts of the world and how things are going for folks using them. It's so easily to become insular in thinking about your hobby/craft; this is where I/we can expand our horizons.
Good to be here; much to learn.

I'm a 1952 model myself & still in good running condition (for now).
The warm welcome I'm receiving is unexpected but - of course, welcome. I look forward to finding some ideas I can work on in my shop and later on show off my projects that are 'keepers'.

Welcome indeed - I have fond memories of Vancouver - especially Gas Town district, VI and riding the carousel in Butchart Gardens. Am a newbie here myself and to date, I like what I see :2tsup:
